Welcome to the official website of Penn State’s annual student spring holiday, State Patty’s Day! The brainchild of Joe Veltre in the winter of 2006, Veltre made State Patty’s Day 2007 happen despite all odds, getting local State College bars signed onto the event, opening early and serving festive St. Patrick’s Day-style green beer and all.

This is, though Spring Break does not fall over St. Patrick’s Day, Joe has decided to carry on the tradition of State Patty’s Day and make it an annual event with the help and support of Safeguard Old State (SOS). We’re here to make sure that this year’s celebration is even bigger than last year, and that it becomes a more well-rounded event, transcending merely drinking, but embracing a genuinely educational purpose and becoming a celebration of both cultural diversity and togetherness.
